Bike trip in Hungary with my friend Marius Reghis ( august 2009) - part 2 - The Pilis Mountains - Dobogoko

The next morning we are ready to head for the Pilis Mountains. It feels so good to wild camp in Hungary near the wonderful Budapest! We are two happy-go-lucky wild campers.

Our first stop is near Pomaz village where Marius needs to rest a bit on a green field.

While he is resting I go to explore the nature and I find some lovely flowers.

Then we have to climb another 10 kms. till we get to Dobogoko: a popular small resort with great touristic infrastructure.
Here we enter a chalet to enjoy a delicious guyas soup. On the walls we can see wonderful photos and old ski equipments.

We like very much the guyas soup, and we also have a tasty apple pie here. I would definitely recommend this chalet.

Just outside we see a nice sculpture.

And in the close vicinity we can see a specially carved wooden pillar.

The nature here is very lush and alluring. On thick pole there are carved the faces of some former kings of Hungary.

The building of this old chalet is quite impressive. It's one of the best touristic places in Hungary.

This chalet is guarded by a magnificent dog that reminds me of the one I met in 2007 on the Valles Pass in the Dolomite

At a distance of 50m behind this chalet there is a beautiful view point over the Danube Bend. Unfortunately we can seee nothing now because there is a thick fog, it has rained a lot while we were inside the chalet. Here we see same dates about Dobogoko.

A few meters away we can see a bas-relief depicting the head of an important figure from Hungary's past.

We have to go and on our way to Pilisszanto we have a nice climb, and soon it starts raining again.

Near Zsambek we come across an interesting pile of buildings and we enter to visit them.

Here we find all sorts of strange houses.

We are impressed by what we see but we don't understand what this is.

Anyway it's quite an interesting architecture.

Should it be a museum or a sort of school?

The buildings are very modern and are quite well-arranged.

We find a panel but we can't understand anything, there's is no translation in a more accesible language for us.

Then we go find a restaurant and we have a delicious pizza and we drink one of the best beers from our trip. The price was like in the western countries but it was worth it.
